A Survey of Bucklers at the Wallace Collection
These data come from Mann, James. Wallace Collection Catalogues: European Arms and Armor. London: The Trustees of the Wallace Collection, 1962. All the bucklers in the collection are included. Please note that the Wallace collection was biased towards 16th century bucklers and to tournament/ornamental bucklers (as with many collectors, Wallace gravitated towards the beautiful rather than the typical). Also, two of the bucklers are not within the SCA period bounds; they are included them for completeness. Dates ending in “0” are approximate.
